ABOUT

The membership of the Union Club spans nearly 150 years and is studded with names of national and international importance: leaders of business, industry, philanthropy, religion, law, healthcare, technology, arts and culture, and government, including five U.S. Presidents.

Throughout the good times and bad, members saw themselves as stewards, responsible for preserving their cherished club so entwined in Cleveland’s history.

Our clubhouse stands as a true testament to the past, present, and future of the membership as well as to the commitment of excellence the Union Club of Cleveland has always portrayed. 

Today, members enjoy dynamic programming and events, a strong and diverse membership, three restaurants each with distinct cuisine, executive fitness center, 10,000 square feet total of private meeting spaces, ten overnight guest rooms, and reciprocity at over 140 private clubs across the world.

The Union club is proud to be recognized as one of the exclusive clubs across the country and globe through two prestigious awards within the private club world: Distinguished Club of the World and 5-Star Platinum Club of America.

The Club has been honored with these prestigious awards for more than seven years.

Additionally, the Club has been recognized for the last five years as a Best of Weddings through theknot.com, Couples Choice with Wedding Wire for the last three years and in 2019 the Club was inducted into theknot.com Best of Weddings Hall of Fame. 

Distinguished Club of the World

Boardroom magazine developed the Distinguished Clubs award program to help vitalize and preserve the institution of private clubs by fostering a ceaseless drive to ever improve the “Member Experience” provided by private clubs throughout the world. Distinguished Emerald Club status is awarded to the top 5 percent of clubs.

To be a Distinguished Emerald Club is to be one of a highly select group of private clubs that have been recognized as providing an absolutely excellent Member Experience at a level attained by only the finest clubs in the world.
